NFE 2026. How Lifelia's Sustainable Coffins Stole the Show at the National Funeral Exhibition 2026

The National Funeral Exhibition 2026 may now be over, but the conversations it sparked around sustainability, innovation and the future of funeral care are only just beginning.

For the Lifelia team, the three-day exhibition was an incredible opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces, welcome new visitors to our stand and showcase how sustainable coffins can provide families with a greener choice without compromising on appearance, quality or dignity.

It was wonderful to meet so many funeral professionals, including fellow members of the BIFD and FSA and to hear first-hand how attitudes towards sustainability within the funeral industry continue to evolve. The enthusiasm, openness and positive discussions around environmentally responsible funeral products demonstrated just how far the industry has come.

"It's Cardboard? I Thought It Was a Traditional Coffin."

Without doubt, one of the highlights of the show was watching visitors discover our traditional wood-effect cardboard coffin.

Time and again, visitors approached our stand assuming the coffin was a conventional laminate coffin. The surprise on their faces when they learnt it was made from sustainable cardboard was priceless.

The feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive:

"I genuinely thought this was a traditional coffin."

"The finish is remarkable."

"It's incredibly lightweight yet feels so substantial."

These conversations reinforced what we have always believed: families should not have to choose between sustainability and tradition. With Lifelia's range of sustainable cardboard coffins, funeral directors can offer an eco-friendly coffin that looks every bit as elegant and dignified as a traditional design while significantly reducing environmental impact.

Sustainable Coffins That Reflect Changing Values

As more families seek environmentally conscious funeral options, the demand for sustainable coffins continues to grow. Funeral directors are increasingly looking for products that combine beautiful design, practicality and environmental responsibility.

At Lifelia, we are proud to offer a range of cardboard coffins that provide exactly that. Our coffins are lightweight, responsibly manufactured, fully recyclable and designed to offer a familiar, traditional appearance that families instantly recognise and appreciate.

The conversations we had at the National Funeral Exhibition confirmed that sustainability is no longer a niche consideration. It is becoming an important part of the future of funeral care, and we are proud to be helping funeral directors provide greener choices with confidence.

Thank You for Visiting Lifelia

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who visited our stand over the three days. Whether you stopped by to learn more about our sustainable coffin range, discuss the future of eco-friendly funerals or simply enjoy one of our famous seedling cupcakes, it was a pleasure to meet you.

This year, alongside our cupcakes, we introduced bee-friendly seed bombs as an environmentally conscious giveaway. Completely plastic-free and designed to support local wildlife, they perfectly reflected our commitment to sustainability and were a wonderful talking point throughout the exhibition.

As the show comes to a close, we look forward to continuing the conversations we started and working together to create a more sustainable future for the funeral industry.
